We got freedom through the hands of that political organization

Abubakar Siddique: 61 years ago, when the East Pakistan Awami Muslim League was formed. Today, the glory of Bangladesh Awami League is beyond 71. The name of the political organization that was born in Bengal is Bangladesh Awami League. June 23, 1949, KM Das, Dhaka. The East Pakistan Awami Muslim League was formed in the Rose Garden in Lane. The meeting was held in the presence of about 300 leaders and activists. President Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhasani and General Secretary Shamsul Haque were elected. He was arrested and imprisoned till July 26, 1949 for supporting the strike of fourth class employees of the university and protesting against the expulsion and fine of student leaders by various halls. The first committee had 40 members. . Hossain Shaheed Suhrawardy was elected its president. In his “Unfinished Autobiography”, Bangabandhu said about the formation of Awami League and his own involvement, “Those old league workers called a workers’ conference in Dhaka. To fix future course of action. That meeting was called on June 23, 1949. We got the news while we were in jail. We were spending a lot of time thinking about the outcome of the conference. I was contacted, to take my opinion. I gave the news that there is no profit in turning behind the Muslim League, this institution has become a detached government institution. They will not go even if they want to take us. Because they have made a hole. It can no longer be called a people’s institution. They have no strategy. I was further asked, will I organize students, or join a political organization if it is formed? I replied that I will not do student politics anymore, I will do political institutions. Because if the opposition party cannot be formed, dictatorship will continue in this country. Everyone agreed and formed a new political organization; It was named ‘East Pakistan Awami (Muslim) League’. Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhasani was the President, Mr. Shamsul Haque was the General Secretary and I was made the Joint Secretary. I saw ‘Security Prisoner’ written next to my name in the newspaper. ”

The first manifesto and introduction of the Awami League stated that after the partition of the country, the Muslim League had completely failed to run the country. Those whose sacrifices in the movement are immense, they could not come to the leadership after the partition of the country. The Muslim League completely failed to play a role in solving the problems of the people. The ruling party suppresses the opposition political forces by enacting and enforcing various black laws. The vision of the Muslim League became an obstacle in the way of development and progress of the country. The country’s education system is in shambles and the government has failed to take any steps to rehabilitate refugees from India. After the establishment of Pakistan, especially in the social, political and economic chaos of East Bengal, the situation became extremely chaotic. The role of the people of East Bengal in the movement and implementation of the establishment of Pakistan was immense. There was no resemblance between the people of the two regions of Pakistan except for a single religious majority. There was no similarity between language, history, tradition, culture and way of life. From the time of the establishment of Pakistan, the youth leader of that time Sheikh Mujib used to say that this Pakistan was not for the Bengalis. One day Bengalis will have to be the fortune tellers. Chhatra League and Awami League have been established with that goal.
An agreement was reached during the 1954 general election that the party would be a non-communal party. The United Front won 223 out of 237 seats in the election. In the council session held in 1955 after the victory of the United Front, the word ‘Muslim’ was removed from the name of the party and renamed as East Pakistan Awami League. For the first time, non-Muslims get a chance to join the party. Became a non-communal Awami League. This is the first time that five women have participated in this conference. As a result, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman became the undisputed leader in East Bengal. On March 3, when the Pakistani rulers adjourned the National Assembly. In protest, Bangabandhu called for the freedom struggle on March 7 at the historic racecourse ground. “This time the struggle is for our liberation, this time the struggle is for freedom. In the early hours of March 26, Bangabandhu made the final declaration of independence before his arrest. After nine months of fighting in the name of Bangabandhu, an independent sovereign Bangladesh was born on 16 December with a final victory. After returning home on January 10, 1972, the Father of the Nation took over as the Prime Minister and took Bangladesh to a unique height.

Withdrawal of Indian troops in just three months, drafting one of the best constitutions in the world in just seven months, gaining membership in international organizations including UN, OIC, Commonwealth, speaking in Bengali at UN General Assembly on September 25, 1964 to establish Bengali language status in World Assembly Recognized by 116 countries. GDP growth was over 6 percent. In 1975, when Bangabandhu started running the state on the basis of national consensus through Bakshal, the program of the second revolution to transform the war-torn country into a golden Bengal, the domestic and foreign allies of the defeated forces of 1971 killed Bangabandhu and his family to stop the progress of Bangladesh. On 16 May 1981, Sheikh Hasina, the worthy successor of Bangabandhu’s blood, took the responsibility of restoring independence, sovereignty and democracy with the flag of Bangladesh Awami League in her hand. He brought back democracy by leading the anti-authoritarian movement. After nearly two decades of fighting on the streets, defeating the Ershad-Khaleda Zia misrule, he won the June 12, 1996 elections and formed the government under the leadership of Deshratna Sheikh Hasina on June 23, the anniversary of the founding of the Awami League.

On December 10, 1996, the historic Chittagong Hill Tracts Peace Accord, the 30-year Ganges Water Treaty with India, the country’s first food self-sufficiency, the Indemnity Ordinance was repealed and the trial of the Father of the Nation murderers began. He has done innumerable works including construction of the eleventh longest Bangabandhu Bridge in the world on the river Jamuna at the expense of dollars. Establishment of rule of law through trial and execution of war criminals, establishment of rule of law through trial and execution of war criminals, member of 57th Satellite Club through launch of Bangabandhu Satellite, construction of nuclear power plant, upgrade of power from 1600 MW to 22000 MW, Padma Bridge, Metro Rail, Currency reserves are around বিল 35 billion, per capita income has increased from ৯ 900 to ৯ 1909, Bangladesh is one of the top five countries in the economic growth index, Bangladesh will be the 29th largest economy in the world by 2030 and 23rd in 2050, according to an international report. Implementing Vision 2021, Vision 2041 and Deltaplan 2100 have been announced. Moving forward with the dream of building a developed and prosperous Bangladesh. We have already entered the developing world. The father of the nation has done politics with two dreams in mind. One is the independence of Bangladesh and the other is the economic liberation of Bangladesh. He gave us freedom but started working for the liberation of the economy but could not finish it in a short time. Bangladesh is moving towards the desired goal through the honesty, devotion and efficiency of Desaratna Sheikh Hasina, the worthy daughter of the father of the nation. Bangladesh today is a role model of development, Bangabandhu’s golden Bengal is on the way to fulfilling dreams today. The Awami League of Rose Garden under the leadership of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu and Desaratna Sheikh Hasina has turned into a mahiruha in 61 years. Occasionally one or two leaves fall off, but the leaves disappear with the soil. The Awami League has become brighter and brighter. Today it is the address of trust, faith and love of millions of people. Not only Bangladesh has become one of the top political organizations in the world. There is no other political party in the world that has the glory of establishing an independent state under the leadership of the Great Liberation War. The Awami League is the only party that has a record of coming to power for three consecutive terms through elections. The contribution of Awami League is at the root of all the achievements of Bengalis in this land. Whenever the Awami League got a chance to run the country, the people of the country got something or other. The Awami League entered the 71st year of achievement, prosperity, progress and glory of the Bengali nation. Today, the father of the nation Bangabandhu, the mother of humanity, statesman Deshratna
